FORT BOREMAN PARK

Sept. 14, 2010---Fort Boreman Park is located on top of a hill that overlooks Parkersburg.

At the highest point is a cannon and shooting walls. Little action took place here. The site was used primarily for surveillance of the Ohio and Kanawha rivers.

Great view of the Ohio river and Parkersburg. The near highway bridge crosses the Kanawha River. To the right of the highway as it enters town is the Blennerhassett Museum. A block further past it is the Oil & Gas Museum.

Looking south at the Kanawha River.

Large brick building in front is the Blennerhassett Museum. Past it and a little left is the Oil & Gas Museum. Brick building with windows blocked off with plywood painted white.

More of downtown Parkersburg.

Blennerhassett Island seen from Fort Boreman Park overlook.
