EUCHEE

June 22, 2009---Quite a day. We traveled 52.5 miles to a marina called Euchee. It took 7.5 hrs to make the trip and the last 2 1/2 where in the rain. We operated the boat from inside the cabin during the heaviest showers. First few hours of the trip the water was like glass. The scenery is really great with rolling hills and steep rock cliffs. Even saw some farming and hay fields along the shore. There were a few fishermen out, but no other pleasure boats.

At times rain was heavy and visibility somewhat reduced. When we passed the Watts Bar nuclear power plant the concrete towers blended in with the rain. Really got soaked putting out the fenders and going thru the Watts Bar Lock at mile 529.9. It was a small lock but lifted 59'. Naturally just as soon as we got the boat tied securely at the marina the rain passed and the sun shined brightly.
