OWENSBORO MARINA

July 2, 2010---A nice short day of travel. Departed fuel dock at Inland Marina, Evansville, IN and went up river 35 miles in 4.5 hours to Owensboro Marina in Kentucky.

May appear like a picture of water, trees and sky. However if you look closely at the base of the trees in the left third of the picture you will see an airplane. We watched the landing just downstream from the Newburgh lock and dam.

This may may have been the smoothest lock so far. Called the operator and he had the downstream gate open upon our arrival. Quick tie up and about a 15 foot lift put us out the upstream gate and on our way in a very short time.

Carol tended to the line to keep the boat close to the wall.

Maryann made sure the fenders were in place to protect the boat.

Power plant in Indiana a couple of miles up river from Newburgh lock.

View of Owensboro, KY as we approached the marina about 1 mile downstream of the highway 161 bridge over the Ohio to Indiana.
