DIRT DRIFTERS

Aug. 8, 2009---No early risers as everyone was plenty tired. Walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Took the trolly across the river to see some old Fords that were near the North Shore Park. They had traveled here (some from other states) for a get together. One of the drivers said they had a timed event on 6th street earlier in the day. That street is quite steep. Each had taken turns to see who could get to the top of the hill in the least amount of time.

There is an indoor carousel at that park. Keith & Maryann chose the tame seat instead of one of the wild animals. See the video!

Dan & Anna posed in front of the Delta Queen.

It was a hot afternoon and the urge for air conditioning lured us back to the Dream Manor. Spent time getting Dan & Anna familiar with the boat.

Later in the evening people began to position themselves on the concrete steps to enjoy the band. The "Dirt Drifters" played country western music for about two hours. We could hear them very well from the comfort of the Dream Manor. It was fun to play games with the background music.
