PARIS LANDING STATE PARK MARINA

Aug. 18, 2013---The two Mike's visited a short time this morning and said "goodbye" as they wanted to get an early start. Travelers will be quite weary as they still have about 1800 miles to go. As for the 4mcgees it's time to move down river. Departed Pebble Isle at 9:00 a.m. and made a really big move of 29.9 miles to Paris Landing State Park Marina and Resort. Arrived at 12:30 p.m. Promptly made arrangements for a ride up the hill to the lodge where Sunday buffet was greatly enjoyed. Park rangers shuttle folks to and from the restaurant. Lots of people around the marina as there was a bass tournament in progress. Announcer said there were 528 boats in the tournament. Big bass weighed 9 pounds. After the function it sure did not take long for all the bass boats to load out and depart. Tents came down and crowd was gone.

McGee name on the sign caught our eyes

Many bass boats.

Co-Captain, Keith after a smooth docking.

Sealy is major sponser of the bass tournament.

More bass boats

Nice crowd at end of tornament. Winners being awarded.

Crowd listening for a familiar name to be called for door prizes.

High water marker looks like a cross.
Dream Manor at end of dock.
Passage in & out of marina seen in the distance on the right.

I'm enjoying your adventures! You had stopped in hubby's business (Carquest) in Savannah a few weeks back and given him a card. We had intended to visit that weekend but alas our boatlift got struck by lightening and the motor (and everything else!) blew. Hope you're having fun! Enjoy the good life! xo Patty Majors
