RETURN

9/18-19/08---Time to return to the boat! As we prepared to go north the Humming birds were eating in preparation to go south. The 4mcgees left Youngsville, LA about 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and drove to Southhaven, MS just south of Memphis. That puts us a little over half way and a night’s sleep felt good. Our journey on Friday put us in St. Charles, MO around 3:00 p.m. The Dream Manor was a welcome sight as we pulled into Woodland Marina. It felt like we had returned home as we put our travel clothes on the boat. It was good to see the boat back in the water. It had been out of the water for about 2 weeks while we were gone. Repairs were made to the bottom of the boat where the protective coating had been damaged from the props hitting the rocks. Also the shaft on the port side was slighly bent. Bloch Marine Services removed and straightened the shaft. Also the props were changed out again. This time to 20" Dia x 25" pitch. We are anxious to try the boat with those props. Engine performance should be optimal. The water level is up several feet. That is a direct result of the excessive rain from the remnants of hurricane Ike.
