Aug. 15, 2009---Picked up a rental car and took Dan & Anna to visit the birth place of Helen Keller across the river in Tuscumbia, AL. I enjoyed the "Ivy Green" home before and was glad to take them.
The pump is very significant as the first time Helen began to recognize words and meanings was with water flowing over her hand.
This is the cottage where Helen and her teacher lived for a short time. It is located close to the main house.
The ice house was under construction when Keith,
Maryann, Carol & I visited here in June.
We enjoyed a fine Italian meal for lunch in Florence.
Back to the boat Anna solved one more SuDoKu puzzle before heading home.
The captains said goodbye as Maryann served as the photographer.
I drove Dan & Anna 127 miles to the airport in Nashville, TN. Round trip time was five hours, as there was only 40 miles of interstate highway.
We certainly enjoyed the week they spent with us!
